Go Beyond Beauty (GBB), in its original form, began in northwest Michigan and served Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Manistee counties. With its recent expansion to all corners of the state, GBB hubs play an important role in ensuring the success of the program on a more local level. These organizations have agreed to operate as the point of contact and provide all information to their specified region. Garden professionals and individuals who wish to participate in Go Beyond Beauty (commit to not using or selling high-priority invasive ornamentals) will register directly with their local hub and be provided with all the resources needed to be go above and beyond traditional gardens.

Guidance and support for hubs will be provided by the Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network, GBB's creator, to ensure success! This support comes in the form of staff trainings, participant resources, and being available to assist with any program issues that may arise. There is no fee to be a hub - we simply request your passion and commitment to this cause. 

​As the GBB program is still in the early stages of expanding statewide, more hubs are needed to create a balanced service area. If your organization is interested, some parameters for being accepted as a hub include:
  • ​​Operates in county or counties not currently covered by another organization - see map for reference
  • Conservation-based organization with staff or volunteers familiar with invasive species management.
  • Organization is fully-prepared to operate as regional point-of-contact for all GBB inquiries/successfully register interested garden professionals, individuals, etc. - with assistance from the state GBB Specialist, as needed.
  • ​Serves as a professional representative of of the Go Beyond Beauty program, its messaging, and branding.
